La Guayabera Bag, 2025

La Guayabera bag is a small leather bag made for the convenience of the user. The bag features a swivel hook to hold keys and a pocket for a phone, leaving room for a wallet and other small items. The design is based on the guayabera, a traditional Latin American men's shirt style. These bags represent my Puerto Rican heritage, bridging my interest in conceptual work and applying it to more commercial design. The color ways are all representative of Puerto Rico through my memories of family and nature.  La Guayabera bag’s lining was also designed based on the feeling of Puerto Rico, shown in the repeating pattern of abstracted representations of the rainforest, ocean, home, and sun.
